HISTORY
The chalet was built in the 1920s by a well-known family of farmers and stockbreeders from Odeillo who later became big businessmen in Fontromeu.
In 2005 our family bought it and undertook a complete renovation. Our aim was to have a mountain refuge where all the members of the family and their friends could share our hobbies of skiing, mountaineering, fishing and mountain, road and gravel biking.
In 2024 we started an ambitious project to improve the energy efficiency of the house, trying to bring it as close as possible to a PassiveHouse, taking advantage of Odeillo's tradition of developing the use of the sun as passive energy (the work of Trombe and Michel). The idea is to take advantage of the sun as a source of energy for the house, trying to make the use of other energies marginal.
